Our current commercial links
The Big Ass Fans advertisement on the homepage and marked Big Ass Fans collection link in our ceiling-fan guide use a supplied Rakuten affiliate tracking URL. We may receive compensation for qualifying activity attributed to those links. This does not mean that every link in the journal is affiliated. Other merchant links are direct, untracked editorial links unless explicitly marked as affiliate links.
How you can recognise advertising
Advertisements are labelled before the creative. Commercial articles carry a disclosure near the top, before shopping links. An external merchant link opens the merchant's website; an internal article link remains within the journal. We do not use invented ratings, purchase counts or testing claims to encourage clicks.
Editorial judgement
Our guides focus on the room, routine and budget a purchase needs to serve. We describe tradeoffs and situations where buying less, keeping an existing item or choosing a simpler option makes sense. Unless an article explicitly documents testing, recommendations are based on research and published information, rather than hands-on use.
Prices, offers and orders
The merchant confirms current prices, availability, specifications and promotional conditions. We use “Check current price” where a reliable continuous price-update process is not in place. A supplied promotion is not published as current merely because its creative exists. The merchant handles all transactions, shipping, returns and warranty support.
